Mission: A group of women from different feminist association created CFCV at Paris in 1985 after rapes committed in public.
CFCV operates since March 8, 1986 (thanks to financial support of the women rights Minister), the answering service “Viols Femmes Information” (Rapes – Women –Information), Monday through Friday from 10 am to 7 pm.
“Viols-Femmes-Information” answering service offers listening, support, and solidarity to victims and provides them with useful information in particular, about different actions they can follow. Anonymity is the rule.
CFCV leans, at the level of France administrative subdivisions, on a national network of local collectives and associations to welcome and give support to victims and to relay its action.  

CFCV is also doing:
  • Group of word: Women victims of rape or other sexual assaults meet, they share their questioning, their sufferings, then possibly act together. 
  • Formation: Animations, sensitization, teaching practices and participations in training courses. 
  • Information: Meetings, debates and public demonstrations
  • questionning of government representatives: Demands for victims concerning laws, health... 
    • FIGHT against rape and all other form of sexual assault and act against all  violence done to women 
    • GIVE THE POWER OF WORD to victims whatever is their sex, their age, their nationality, their religion, their sexual preference to break the silence that surrounds sexual violence and makes still too often of the victim the guilty 
    • CONTRIBUTE to an individual and collective awareness of what is rape: a crime roots of which are in the inequality between women and men and in the power of domination.
    • PARTICIPATE in the construction of a society based on the equality between women and men and the recognition of their own identity and dignity.
During its 27 years of existence, this answering service has received the confidential calls of more than 45,000 different victims (sexual assaults or rape)!
